MArch Architecture (ARB/RIBA part II)

Tokyo Radon Spa

The Tokyo Radon spa is a relaxation facility built on the site of the athletes housing facility after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The architecture of the scheme is kit-bashed from a cornucopia of cute mascots, animals, figurines and olympians, celebrating the regenerative power of radon spa's, albeit with a satirical edge. Although radon Spa's are popular destinations in Japan, this project is critical of the Japanese government's attitude towards radiation post-Fukushima.
