Unfixing the Ordinary: A new normal in a post-pandemic town
In its current form, the high street is not adaptable enough. The concept of ‘unfixing’ erodes illusions of permanence, enabling users to curate their own space using a kit of parts. This kit derives from an archive process. Behavioural memories are retrieved, dissociated and relocated to the new environment, allowing the high street to transcend beyond its current retail use.
